Description

Practice, practice, practice. :D

Still workin' on general clothing shape, wrinkles, 'hang', and tried texture for the first time today.

Pretty pleased. I'm getting better!!

And the red is just *rockin*. I wish I could find a shirt in bright red.

Thanks for comments and critiques!

Woah, Cori this looks FABULOUS.

I don't think I'll go into the different categories and tell you why I rated each one, but I will tell you what I love, and what I think could use improvement.

First of all, I will tell you my favorite part about this are the sleeves. Gorgeous. They have excellent movement, beautiful wrinkles and it gives the material a very realistic and yet ethereal feeling. Its from the sleeves that I get the feeling that this isn't just thin material, but silk or satin. I also love the wrinkles on the left (our left) shoulder.

I also love how you're incorporating the seems. A lot of amateur artists don't, so by doing so, and doing so well, you've definitely set yourself out from many other artists.

Another thing I love is the shape. Just all around unique and yet classic. Not always easy to pull off.

And lastly, the color. You did a fabulous job coloring this, especially the highlights. It's a very vibrant looking red that really catches the eye.

Now, what I think could use improvement.

The ruffles around the neck have great shape to them, but the lines don't seem anywhere nearly as crisp and certain as many other places on the shirt. This could also be because the back-side of the fabric that we can see (the darker parts) on the right side (our right) especially feel much too dark. Elsewhere, the dark works out beautifully, but even those under areas have shape and some light to them. Light will bounce off of the material (especially silk and satin because they're highly reflective) and will lighten those under areas a little more than it would on the dark side (resisting Darth Vader joke here).

I'm also feeling a little less form on the dark side in the bodice area. I think it could use a little more subtle of a transaction from dark to light there.

Also, the wrinkles around the bust area look rather outlined to me, and not quite as realistic or as dynamic as they could be.
